LIVE ARTMAKING DEMOS IN ROYAL SQUARE

When: Every Sunday from 1-4pm, weather permitting
Where: Along East King St in Royal Square

The Royal Square Arts District invites you for a unique “behind the scenes” experience as artists and makers demonstrate their creative process right before your eyes! Every Sunday from 1-4 (weather permitting) from March 17 through September.

Artists will be set up in front of various shops and galleries along the 00-100 blocks of E. King St. Check the Discussion tab weekly to see who will be demoing in the District!

In addition, you can visit our Merchants, stroll the Royal Square Mural Park, and grab a bite to eat at any of our district eateries. Plenty of free parking, too

MYTHIC: April Gallery Exhibit

Exhibit Dates April 5th – April 27th

This month, The Dark Parlour exhibits the works of 20 artists, from local to international, that feature over 40 pieces exploring the Mythic theme.

From unicorns to cryptids, you’ll find art to meet any aesthetic.

Meet some of the artists while you attend, and talk with them about their inspirations, techniques, and more.

Pajama Party in Royal Square District for Bell’s Big Bed Race

Break out your PJs, muss up your bedhead, put on your slippers and come join our Pajama Party in Royal Square District!

Come hang out with us in your PJs on Saturday April 13, watch Bell’s Big Bed Race, do the Mural Walk, and enjoy the shops & galleries – some of whom will have special promotions and/ or treats for you! FREE and FAMILY FRIENDLY!

Bell’s Big Bed Race is happening right off the Royal Square Mural Park at Howard Ave & Newton Ave, right next to Collusion Tap Works. The race is from 10am-12pm, but we will be pajama-partying the whole day.

Pajama Party Early Hours – The Dark Parlour will be open 9am – 5pm! Roll out of bed and into The Dark Parlour for a “pajama party” celebrating Bell’s Big Bed Race.If you visit this Saturday while wearing your best PJ attire, we’ll give you a FREE sticker! New items and restocks available, including Incense, Candles, Herbs, Books, and more. Visit your local goth shop for a purrrfect Saturday Mo(u)rning sleepy basket of good goth fun!

Cryptid Cookie Decorating Workshop with Sugar Anarchy

Welcome to the Cryptid Cookie Decorating Class! Join us for a fun evening of decorating delicious cookies inspired by mysterious creatures like Bigfoot, Mothman, and the Loch Ness Monster. No experience necessary – our expert instructors will guide you through the process step by step.

Children’s Art Workshop: Mythical Creatures

Unicorns, mermaids, and dragons, OH_MY!!

Children ages 6 to 10 are invited to join Kate of Kate Rush Art
to create their favorite mythical creature from a variety of art materials.

Artists can draw inspiration from the Mythical art exhibit in the Dark Parlour as well as stories and discussion throughout the workshop.

Cost: $30 per child
Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
Spaces are limited.

All materials are included.
A smock (or an old t-shirt) is suggested to keep art materials off of clothing. Aprons are available for use upon request,

Drop off is 9:15AM at the Dark Parlour.
Pick up is promptly at 11AM.

Free parking is available throughout the Royal Square District including the large parking lot on the corner of South Queen Street and East King Street.

Kate Rush is a studio artist at Hive artspace, and is a Fang Around event committee member. She offers a variety of both youth and adult classes within Hive and the Royal Square District.

Fang Around The Cauldron is our annual Springtime celebration of Witches Night! We combine Walpurgisnacht, Halfway to Halloween, and Beltane for a fun day of ritual through arts, music, and alternative culture in the heART of Downtown York’s Royal Square District.

Free street parking is available around the district after 5:00, and Free parking is available on weekends and after 5:00pm at the following locations:
– RSD Mural Park lot at Newton & Howard
– Corner lot of E. Newton Ave and S. Duke Street
– E. King Street and S. Queen Street Lot (directly across from The Bond)
– Collusion Tapworks Customers: Corner lot of S. Howard Street and E. Newton Avenue (directly behind the Bond)
– King Street Parking Garage & Market Street Parking Garage (each just 1 block away)
